This is a fictional game that was invented due to people's interest in suicidal groups in order to cash in on advertising and affiliate programs. In short, it's a fake

The concept of the game "Red Owl" is very similar to the famous "Blue Whale" - the same curator, the same VKontakte correspondence, teenage victims and a prize for winning (which one - no exact information). But there are differences.

In "Red Owl" they play like this: a mysterious curator writes in private messages on VKontakte and says that you need to "stay awake for 12 days." During the game, the curator checks the player with the message "Is the owl awake?" The answer is "The owl never sleeps." The player should always be online, and when the curator throws off the video, you need to watch it right away. If you complete the task, do not sleep for 12 days, you will receive a prize.

The topic of the "Red Owl" began to be promoted on social networks a week ago, and it is already difficult to say who was the first. So bloggers decided to tell about it.

They insist not to succumb to curators, beware of free prizes and “serious consequences”.

On VKontakte for the query "red owl", you can find gloomy rhymes like this:

The peak of popularity of the search query naya owl ”was the end of last year, November-December. After the appearance of new videos, interest in the "owl" began to grow slightly again:

There is no explanatory information about the game. There is only one impression: this game was invented by the bloggers themselves, who cover the HORRIBLE (but sucked from the finger) facts about the "Red Owl". After all, Blue Whale was already a hype, and one of the YouTube masters Nikolai Sobolev made more than 10 million views on the video about the horrors of Blue Whale.

Let me remind you that Death Groups were especially popular in the summer of 2016. In the fall, Philip Budeikin (aka Philip Lis) was arrested, who drove teenagers to suicide. After that, there was no convincing evidence that someone was forcing children to participate in the game, but the hype ended only by the spring of 2017 (viewimo, vidos about Shurygina surpassed).

Red Owl - This is a pseudo game that Blue Whale allegedly made. Bloggers came up with it because they need a hype.

And the bottom line: Red Owl is complete nonsense.
